American Chicken Wings

These chicken wings are a classic American style snack which we all just love. Easy food to enjoy at anytime though particularly good as a bar snack or TV dinner. These chicken wings come  full of cheese and herb flavours, are less sweet than the sweet sticky counterpart and are just great when enjoyed with the very popular Blue Cheese Dip (click for the recipe).

Ingredients

  • 24 chicken wings
    - trimmed
  • 250g butter
    - melted
  • Crispy Cheese Coating
  • 270g parmesan cheese
    - grated
  • 3 tsp dried oregano
  • 3 tsp paprika
  • 3 tsp dried chilli flakes
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp coarsely ground black pepper
  • Dip
  • Blue Cheese Dip
    - see recipe

Instructions

  • Prepare chicken wings:
  • 01 Trim pointy bits and cut wings in half at the joint.
  • Make cheesy coating:
  • 02 In a large bowl, mix parmesan, oregano, paprika, parsley, chilli flakes, salt and pepper. Stir well.
  • Assemble:
  • 03 Melt butter and dip each chicken wing into the melted butter. Remove and toss well into the seasoned cheesy coating. Lay evenly on a baking tray lined with non stick paper.
  • Cook:
  • 04 Place in the oven and roast until dark and crispy, approximately 40 minutes or so.
  • Serve:
  • 05 Best enjoyed hot with a tasty dip.

Notes

Easy to assemble and can be made several hours before cooking. Always store uncooked chicken chilled and within the refrigerator.
