2020 – What does one say! … no words required.

21 • August • 2020

I am feeling rather bad, as I have completely neglected my blog page. When I look back I see that my last post was 17th April 2019 with the post on An Expatriate Tradition the infamous Friday Brunch.  HOW BAD IS THAT! So, from today I promise to change this and start updating more often.

So where to start? Well I suppose I should start at the beginning of this year, when the first 3 months were what we can classify as ‘normal’ but come MARCH 2020 in Qatar everything changed!

For me I had BIG PLANS for JULES, with cooking demonstrations and vlogging around my home town Doha, with my favourite camera man – Sharbel Najeem taking in the local culinary sights, experiences and tastes of this interesting Gulf country BUT as we know for Qatar all changed in that last week of March, 2020 as COVID19 HIT!

In all honesty I think that is really all I want to say about the CoronaVirus pandemic. What a nightmare experience for all of us throwing the world totally of kiltre and the ‘old life’ as we knew seems to be literally on hold…. and sadly changing. To exactly what we still do not really know BUT, being someone with a positive nature I am not going dwell on this nightmare pandemic but focus my blog on ‘good things’, the wonderful people who have inspired me during lockdown, you my lovely followers and keep moving forward positively.

How to do this? Well over the coming weeks I will introduce them all to you, share their highs and lows, tempt your tastebuds with my new foodie recipes, posts and so on basically, I hope, with the aim to lift your spirits (and mine) and to get through this terrible year with a smile.

So with the words which have become part of my life now I close todays blog with a happy heart and wish you all good health and happiness with an additional:

STAY SAFE, STAY WELL, STAY HOME and STAY COOKING!
