Delicious Fish Parcels

Delicate fillets of fish, seasoned with Asian spices and wrapped tightly in paper to form perfect parcels. Lightly steamed and served with boiled rice. Eating healthy could not be easier. I have given the recipe for one person but obviously if you cook for more, increase the quantities accordingly.

Steam method

Ingredients

  • 1 fresh haddock fillet per person
    - skin removed
  • Flavours
  • Generous piece of fresh ginger
    - peeled, cut into fine matchsticks
  • 1 small garlic clove
    - finely chopped
  • 2-3 slices of lemon
    - thinly sliced
  • Small handful of baby spinach
  • Splash of chilli oil
    - optional
  • Splash of sesame oil
  • Parcels
  • Baking parchment for creating parcels

Instructions

  • Prepare all ingredients:
  • 01 Double check fish has no skin or scales and chop or cut ginger, garlic and lemon etc.
  • Assemble:
  • 02 Lay out individual baking parchment to make parcels. Place fish fillet on top of the paper. Add ginger, lemon, baby spinach, splash of chilli oil, splash of sesame oil. Wrap to form secure individual parcels.
  • Cook:
  • 03 Place in your steamer and cook HIGH for 15 minutes.
  • Serve:
  • 04 Open the parcels and serve with freshly boiled jasmine rice with a splash of soya sauce.

Notes

Always wrap the parcels tightly in order to retain all the flavours. I like to use my electric rice steamer with the steaming attachment to cook these delights.
