Simple Smoked Mackerel Pâté
Simple smoked mackerel pâté is a delicious fish pâté, which is extra protein packed with the addition of cottage cheese and plain Greek yoghurt. The perfect fish pâté when served with wholesome sourdough bread toast, watercress and any pickles of your choice. Ingredients

Approximately 300g smoked mackerel- skin removed

2 tbsp Greek plain yoghurt
-
2 tbsp full fat plain cottage cheese

1 lemon- juice only
-
Plenty freshly grated black pepper

Pinch of sea salt- to taste

Few drops of Tobasco red pepper sauce- optional
Instructions

Step 1:

01 Remove the skin from the smoked mackerel.

Step 2:

02 Using a processor (either hand or machine) add all the ingredients and blitz to a smooth pate. Taste and add extra ingredients if required. Add more lemon juice if too thick for your liking.

Decorate:

03 Turn into a bowl or serving dish of your liking and decorate with thinly sliced pieces of lemon. Cover and place in the fridge and chill and firm for minimum 15 minutes.

04 Enjoy chilled with sourdough toast, more fresh lemon and watercress.
Notes
I make this delightful pate with Greek yoghurt but if you prefer, a quality mayonnaise would also work well. Can be served in individual pots or as a whole, as I have done for the recipe picture.
