Jam Jar Shaker Dressing
Again, when time is short and you want an easy dressing for any type of salad whether it be a plain green or a mixed vegetable, this throw everything in a jam jar and shake like crazy dressing is definitely a winner. I like to add garlic as the flavour really improves over time but if not, keep it simple and just make with good quality olive oil, mustard and cider vinegar.
Makes a large jar, enough for 1 large salad or numerous individual salads
5 minutes
Ingredients
-
1 - 2 tsp French mustard
-
1 tbsp runny honey
-
Extra virgin olive oil - measuring 3/4 up the jar
-
Apple cider vinegar - start with 2 tbsp
-
1 clove garlic - crushed (optional)
-
Sea salt to taste and coarsely ground black pepper
-
1 x 340g glass jam jar with screw lid
Instructions
-
01 Place all vinaigrette ingredients into the clean jam jar. Secure the lid.
-
02 Shake vigorously until all ingredients are well infused.
-
03 Check the seasoning, add more sweetness via the honey, or cider vinegar for a sharpness. Add the salt in small pinches, and it is important to add, as the salt does ‘marry’ all the flavours together.
-
04 Store in the jar in a cupboard and 'shake' well when required.
Notes
So easy and quick to make, and will store up to a week or more. If the ingredients separate, just give a good shake to bring back together. Double up the recipe for a larger volume and of course, increase the jam jar size (650g glass jars work well with the above quantities).
